Turning Local Plastic Waste into Margaret River Treasures

PPMR logo

We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to transforming discarded plastic lids into beautiful, functional art that is 100% recycled products.

These bespoke products are made in Australia and Handcrafted right here in the South West. We empower businesses, schools and community groups to transition toward a more circular economy.

Together, we keep our coastlines pristine and our community sustainable.

STEP BY STEP

RECYCLED-PLASTIC-USE-DECOR-SUSTAINABLE-SOUTH-WEST

 Step 1 // COLLECT

We rescue plastic lids: #2 (HDPE), #4 (LDPE) and #5 (PP). Sourcing them directly from our South West community.

Our Team of Volunteers in Vasse clean and sort them by type and colour.

STEP 2 // CREATE

In our Margaret River workshop we transform these "non-recyclables". We shred them into flakes and melt them down.

No resins, no glues, just 100% diverted plastic waste. Using heat and pressure, we mould the plastic into functional art.

STEP 3 // CHERISH

One-of-a-kind by design. Our marble-patterned homeware, decor and furniture are handcrafted. No two pieces are ever the same and are built to last a lifetime. We help close the loop in the circular economy and make a tangible impact on the environment; contributing to a greener, better future, one lid at a time.

About Us - Replace Pic Narelle Foun der.jpg

Why I Do What I Do

“After witnessing plastic waste threatening our pristine coastline during a 2019 camping trip, I founded Precious Plastic Margaret River to transform single-use waste into products that last a lifetime.

Inspired by the idea that we can live without leaving a trace, I am committed to proving that what we call "rubbish" is actually a valuable resource. My mission is to keep plastic out of our landfills and oceans by turning it into something beautiful, functional and permanent for our community.“

Narelle Kuppers -  Founder of Precious Plastic Margaret River

“love the fact that they are recycling a product that has not been allowed to go into community recycling programs!”
